Understanding Our SATs Results
SATs (Standard Assessment Tests) are national assessments taken by pupils at the end of Key Stage 2 (Year 6). They measure how well children have learned in Reading, Writing, Maths, and Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling against national expectations.
The results show:
- Scaled Scores: Pupils receive a score between 80 and 120. A score of 100 or above means your child is working at the expected standard.
- School Performance: We share the percentage of pupils who achieved the expected standard or higher, compared to national averages.
- Progress Scores: These show how much progress pupils have made from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2, compared to other schools nationally.
Why is this important? SATs help us understand how well pupils are learning and where we can improve. They are one part of a bigger picture that includes teacher assessments and your child’s overall development.
